Latin America

BT operates in 22 Latin American countries with integrated commercial and operational capabilities and more than 1,000 employees throughout the region, offering a wide range of networked IT services to our customers.  We are headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil and we serve more than 1300 customers from public and private sectors and from different industry verticals. 

We have four key datacenters located in Latin America (Bogota, Buenos Aires, Caracas and Sao Paulo) enabling us to serve the entire region. We also have 7 Network Operations Centres providing monitoring and proactive diagnosis on a 24x7 basis for our customers across the region.

In Latin America, BT serves corporate customers such as Nestlé, Pepsico, Unilever, ABInBev, SAB Miller, Fiat, Bradesco Bank (Brazil), CableVision (Argentina) and Prosa (Mexico). In the Latin American public sector BT also provides services to Caixa Econômica Federal (Brazil), Correios (Brazil), CANTV (Venezuela), Compartel (Colombia), ECOPETROL (Colombia), and Meduca -Ministry of Education (Panama).

BT at Our Best

Business responsibility matters to BT.

It's very important to us that we grow as a business in a way that benefits our customers and society. Whether this be through the use of communication technology to help tackle social and environmental challenges, or by addressing critical issues such as privacy, content standards and accessibility.

We want everybody to enjoy the benefits of a more connected society, no matter who they are or where they live.

Increasing digital inclusion

Our Get IT Together campaign has helped 52,000 people since 2010 enjoy the benefits of being connected to the internet, who otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity. 

Carbon emissions and energy use

We have been reducing our impact on climate change since the 1990s. We've already done a lot to reduce our carbon footprint, and now our approach requires us to be more innovative - thinking beyond our direct emmissions by increasing engagement with suppliers and customers to produce lower-carbon solutions for all.

Helping customers

Many of our customers use our network to create services that improve and enhance people's lives. Health is one of the sectors where technology can make a real difference. In the UK our NHS contracts are leading to efficiency gains and improved patient care, for example BT support out of hours stroke assessment by providing video conferencing faciliities to remotely based consultants.


This is increasingly a basic requirement of doing business. The value of customer bids with a sustainability element has risen over the last two years - from £2.1 billion in 2010, to £2.7 billion in 2012.  

The Graduate Programme

Many of our senior leaders have come through our Leadership Development Programme (referred to internationally as our Graduate Programme). We're always on the lookout for more people like them. If you've got drive and raw talent, we'll give you the foundations to kick start your career in a leadership role with us.

Business Management Program

You'll spend two years doing a rotational role, which will give you the chance to experience different areas and build a clearer picture of where you want to take your career.

Here's a snapshot of what you could experience:

Client Engagement

Covering the whole client life-cycle from initial contact through to delivery, it's all about enriching our face-to-face relationships with our largest customers. You'll need strong communication skills, commercial awareness and be passionate about improving the end-to-end service to our customers.

Customer Management

You'll be making a direct impact on the satisfaction of our customers. For instance, you could be managing a team of engineers to help fix a business-critical problem for one of our customers. To succeed here, you need to be resilient, cool under pressure, quick-thinking and focused.

Business Improvement

In helping to implement change across our business, you'll need to understand the impact that technology can have on a business, develop a broad, yet in-depth knowledge of BT, have a strong problem-solving ability, and an eye for detail.

Training and Development

It's your career, you decide where and how far you go. We'll give you all the support you need to get there - whether it's training, career advice or encouragement.

Our core graduate training is made up of 20 days training across each year.

Here are a few examples of the types of courses you can expect to take while you're on the programme:

Leadership Week

Spend a whole week away on a residential course all about leadership. You'll learn about how you cope under pressure, and what your leadership style is. Our graduates tell us this is one of the best courses they've ever been on.

Graduate Challenge Cup

Work on a team project that spans all parts of BT. The focus? Making our customers happier, bringing in more business and cutting costs. The finalists get to present to a board of senior managers.

360° feedback

Get a snapshot of your strengths and skills, and see what impact you have on our business and the people around you. It's a great way to see what your key strengths are, and what your development areas are in the future. 

Talent master classes

Hear straight from our senior managers about their personal careers and our priorities as a business. Our Chairman and the CEO of Openreach have both run master classes recently.


Current US Graduates

Eric Corbin, 2012 Intake, Dallas


I graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor's degree in Business-Risk Management.

I am currently in my first rotation, working with the COO team to optimize cost savings for BT Global Services.  My role on the team involves working with colleagues to find telco and non-telco savings throughout BT.  This is a very challenging and exciting role.  Optimizing cost savings at thousands of sites around the world is a crucial part to being an industry leader like BT is.  The COO team is a committed group of people who want the best for BT.  We take great pride in what we do because we know it helps drive value to BT.

What is great about the BT graduate program is that as a graduate you get to work with colleagues and customers from around the world.  The exposure you get to how a globalized company operates is a unique experience that you can only find in the BT graduate program.  The emphasis BT puts on connecting the world really comes out in your assignments.

Induction week has been one of the highlights of my time at BT.  All the grads from around the world flew into London for the week to meet each other and learn more about BT and the role we play in connecting the world.  With presentations from the executive team, the graduates got to see how BT put on the most connected Olympic Games in history.  It was great to see that graduates had taken part in connecting the Olympics and that new graduates would soon have similar opportunities within their new roles at BT.

Beth Kunkel

I graduated from the University of Notre Dame, majoring in Political Science and Computer Applications.  After volunteering full time with homeless and at risk youth in New York City, I attended and graduated from Georgia State University, College of Law.  I am currently working as a Business Analyst in the United States and Canada region of BT.  This role has been extremely beneficial in getting a high level view of the various products, services, and teams that make BT a market leader in Network Services.  It has also been intellectually rewarding, learning aspects of finance and business management that I had not yet been exposed to in my educational experiences. 

The highlight of the graduate program thus far was our trip to London for induction.  While there, we heard top BT executives speak and welcome us to the company, and met other grads from all over the world

I graduated from the University of Penn, completing a double major in International Relations and East Asian Languages and Civilizations. I decided to join BT to become apart of a fast paced environment dealing with international players and the newest technologies. Currently, I am working on the Unilever account in a Sales and Strategy type role. This program is so unique because within a matter of weeks, I was heading up my own initiatives. I have been able to see a project from start to finish, yielding million dollar orders for BT. I am so happy to be a part of a program where I am able to develop my skills while also producing value-added projects for my team

Nick Catero

I have been with BT for over year now and have worked across several areas of our business.  Throughout my rotations, I have gained experience in sales, contract management, business analysis, and corporate strategy.  My current role in business development brings together many aspects of these distinct disciplines.  Because of my experience, I can engage with our customers and help them define their global network strategies.  I am inspired by what our customers are able to accomplish with BT and enjoy learning about their business operations along the way.  This level of responsibility and depth of learning opportunity are something few companies can offer.

Adam Bolewicz

I graduated from the New York University with a B.S. in Business Leadership and Management Studies. After spending 12 month rotation with Sales team in Global Banking & Financial Markets, I am currently working for Business Management team. The new rotation presented me with a unique set of challenges, which continue to test my core competencies and focus on granularity of deliverables in order to achieve successful outcomes. This rotation requires meticulous attention to detail in order to fully explore the complexity of the information related to each account and circuit that we provide for our clients. The results of our work are very tangible savings for both BT as well as our clients. The Business Management rotation helps me develop and sharpen particular set of skills, which will allow me to expand my professional growth.

The Leadership Training Week is unique experience that is designed to inspire and motivate individuals and organizations alike to challenge their limits in order to achieve higher levels of performance and outstanding results in their professional endeavours. The training combines theory and practical exercises designed to help us to understand many aspects of the leading and managing teams as well as our own limitations. The program introduces participants to the newest theories and concepts related to the leadership with an aim to improve and invigorate our professional performance. BT strongly believes in developing leaders and provides essential tools to develop our own leadership styles.

The Programme

Where would I work?

Our graduate vacancies are in New York City and Dallas, or Colombia and Brazil

Can I work towards professional qualifications?

It will depend on the role you are doing, but potentially you could.

Can I move within BT?

For all graduates, role moves within the company are encouraged and we expect our graduates to be geographically flexible. They are seen as part of the process of developing leadership potential, and are encouraged to form part of your development plan as agreed between you and your line manager. Moves between lines of businesses are less common but you should expect to move within the line of business you are in. New job opportunities come up often and are advertised internally.

Will I be able to work overseas?

Possibly. We're an international company, so overseas secondment opportunities do come up - but this is not guaranteed and depends on the role you are doing.

How is my progress monitored?

From the start, your performance will be monitored against your personal and team objectives. You'll have regular performance reviews to discuss how you're doing and for you to show how you're meeting those objectives.

Eligibility Requirements

Is my degree major/minor acceptable?

We are open to all kinds of majors but it is an advantage to have degree knowledge and/or experience that relates to Business Management.

Can applicants from outside the US apply?

You must have the permanent legal right to work for the country you apply for.

Is there an age limit for applicants, or a time limit between graduating and applying for a graduate job?

No, as BT is an equal opportunities employer there is no age or time limit.

Can I apply for more than one country?

No, you can only submit one application per year to our graduate programme so you must choose one country. This should be the country that you have the permanent right to work in.

Making an Application

Does BT accept paper applications?

No, you'll need to apply online. To make it easier, the application form can be printed and saved, so you can log back in to complete the remaining sections.

I already work for BT. Do I still need the same qualifications and do I have to apply online?

Yes, our application procedure is exactly the same for internal and external applicants.

I have been unsuccessful at one of the recruitment process stages - can I re-apply?

No, sorry you can only submit one application for each campaign year.

Will I receive feedback on my application?

You will receive feedback if you attend one of our assessment centres. Unfortunately, we are not able to supply feedback on the other stages of the application process.

When do applications close?

We'll be closing for applications in mid-April, but we'd encourage you to complete your application as quickly as possible.

Where will the assessment day be held?

All assessment days will be held in country.

Entry Requirements

To join our graduate programme, you must meet the following criteria:

The US

  • At least 3.0 GPA (cumulative) in your Undergraduate Degree
  • The permanent legal right to work in the US
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Geographic flexibility within the US


  • A Bachelors degree in business administration, economics, industrial engineering, production engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering/electronics graded 7.0 or higher
  • The permanent and legal right to work in the country for which you are applying
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) and fluency in Portuguese


  • A Bachelors degree in business administration, economics, industrial engineering, production engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering/electronics graded 3.5 or higher
  • The permanent and legal right to work in the country for which you are applying
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) and fluency in Spanish

Before You Apply

Ask yourself: Why do I want this role? Why do I want to work for BT? What can I bring to BT? It's not just about convincing us, it's about making sure BT is the right place for you.

Filling in the Online Form

Have your resume ready to upload and make sure it sells you. Check your spelling and grammar and review your application before you submit it.

Capability Questions

These questions give you the chance to show us you have the right mindset, skills and experience so think carefully about your answers. Before you start, list all the challenging situations you've been involved in and be clear and specific - don't exaggerate.

Online Tests

Treat this like any other exam - make sure you've got everything you'll need, and do it somewhere you won't be disturbed.

Telephone Interview

Do your research: What's our strategy? What big projects are we working on? Have we been in the news lately? Find a quiet location where you won't be disturbed.
